Local SEO for contractors: get found where you actually work

Local SEO is the work of making your business appear when someone in your area searches for your trade. It is not magic or a switch: it is a set of correct foundations, real evidence and constant measurement. That is how we do it at ALKAN, and that is how we explain it to you.

01

What we do, concretely

  • Google Business Profile set up and optimized — only where your business legitimately qualifies (real service area, no invented addresses)
  • Clear titles and descriptions on every page, written for how your customer searches
  • Content per service and real coverage; area pages only when they carry their own evidence, not copies with another city name
  • Real project evidence: your photos, your jobs, organized so Google and the customer understand them
  • Name, address and phone (NAP) consistency across your site and the directories that matter
  • Technical site SEO: speed, mobile, structured data, sitemap and indexing

02

How we measure

We connect Google Search Console and review impressions, clicks and the queries that bring visits with you. We explain the numbers in plain language, without inflated reports. If something does not work, we tell you and adjust.

03

What we do NOT promise

  • We do not guarantee the first position on Google — nobody honest can
  • We do not create pages for cities where you do not work
  • We do not buy reviews or invent testimonials
  • We do not use techniques that risk your business's reputation with Google

04

Who this is for

For contractors with a real business and a real service area in Washington — roofing, remodeling, drywall, concrete, landscaping, painting and more — who want the phone to ring with customers from their area, not spam.

05

Verifiable coverage in Washington

Review separately where you accept jobs in King, Pierce, Snohomish and Kitsap. A list of counties does not prove presence or guarantee appearing on Maps. For each area, describe real services and limits; publish your own photos with permission and an approximate location, never a customer's private address.

Local presence checklist (Spanish guide) — Compare profile, site and evidence before expanding content.

06

First steps

  • Free review of your current presence: site, Google profile and how you appear today
  • Written proposal with what we would do, in what order and at what price
  • Staged implementation, with measurement from the first month

Questions

Straight answers.

How long until I see results?

Local SEO takes months, not days. It depends on your area, your competition and the current state of your presence. We give you honest expectations in the initial review.

Do I need a physical office for Google Business Profile?

Not necessarily, but serving by service area does not guarantee eligibility. Check Google's current rules for your actual activity. If you do not receive the public at your address, review when you must hide it; do not use a virtual office or a borrowed address to fake presence. ALKAN does not guarantee approval or positions on Maps.

Do I need a page for every city I serve?

No. One clear services-and-coverage page can be enough. Only consider an additional page when it answers different questions and has its own evidence of work in that area; swapping the city name in the same text does not add that information. Priorities are reviewed against real queries, not a supposedly validated keyword list.

Can I do SEO without a website?

A Google profile helps, but the website is where the customer gets convinced and contacts you. Ideally both work together.

What if I already have a site built by someone else?

We review it for free and honestly tell you what can be reused and what is worth rebuilding.
